Poliana G. Danila
With over eight years of international experience in horticulture and landscape design that took her from Romania to Holland, back to Romania and finally to New York, Poliana comes to us with some very impressive credentials. After working for a few years as a journalist at newspapers in Transylvania, Romania, she went on to study landscape design, ornamental plants, and oenology at the University of Horticulture, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. While a student at the University, Poliana won a horticulture scholarship that took her to Holland. In 2005 she decided to come to the United States. Poliana studied landscape design at the New York Botanical Garden while expanding her gardening and design skills on a rooftop garden in Manhattan. In spring 2008, after finishing her NYBG program Poliana was hired by Poundridge Nurseries, Inc., as a landscape designer. She has a creative background in practical arts like cooking and building objects for indoor design. Though influenced by Asian and classic English design, she enjoys working with strong lines and modern forms, but appreciates the uniqueness of every landscape project. Poliana also teaches garden design classes for Wilton Continuing Education. In her spare time Poliana listens to music--especially jazz—travels, and enjoys movies.
